Free vs Pro vs Business — Ask quotas, downgrade to Free, billing cancel portal, Private IM corpus.

startpropsUpdated Aug 14, 2026

NotionFlare plans scale from a public Notion site to a Knowledge Base your groups can /ask. Live limits are on Pricing.

What does Free include?

  • Publish from Notion to your public site (Title, Slug, Status, body).
  • Personal Knowledge Base for private + public posts (up to ~30 posts in your Knowledge Base at once).
  • Dashboard Try /ask (10/day · 100/month) against your own Knowledge Base (including private posts you own).
  • Telegram / Discord / Slack `/ask` on linked groups — Public corpus only (inquiry / lead FAQs). Shared ask quota with Dashboard.
  • Optional: turn on platform discovery so public posts can join the official Telegram demo corpus (see Platform discovery).
  • Not included: Private (or Private+Public) IM corpus, image text, AI auto-cover.

What do Pro and Business add?

  • Higher sync and Knowledge Base caps (Pro ~1000 posts, Business ~3000). Caps are concurrent slots — archived / removed posts free capacity; updating a post you already keep does not consume a new slot.
  • Per-group Ask corpus: Public, Private, or Private + Public — e.g. member groups on Private, inquiry chats on Public.
  • Higher Ask quotas (shared by Dashboard + IM channels). Ask is the main usage gate.
  • Image text (opt-in) — separate quota from /ask.
  • Media hosting & uploads — for images and assets on the site.
  • AI auto-cover (Business only) when a post has no cover image — separate day/month quota (~10/day · 150/mo). Pro does not include auto-cover; use a Notion cover or Featured Image instead.
  • Audience topics (Business only) — semantic clusters of similar /ask questions on Home (Pro still gets helpful rate, emoji mood, and exact “most asked”). Feedback setup: Ask feedback channels.

Business is aimed at larger communities (Telegram, Discord, or Slack — roughly 1k–10k members) with higher daily and monthly /ask and image-text limits, plus more storage.

Why isn’t AI auto-cover on Pro?

Auto-cover is an extra paid image generation step and is not part of the core “Notion → site + /ask” path. Pro focuses quota on Ask and Knowledge Base size. Prefer a Notion page cover or Featured Image — that uses no AI cover quota. Business keeps a metered auto-cover allowance for larger publishing volume.

See live numbers on Pricing.

How do /ask quotas work?

  • Quotas are per account owner, shared by Dashboard Try /ask, Command-K Ask, and everyone in linked IM groups.
  • Limits are daily and monthly and scale by plan (Free includes a small shared quota).
  • Unused day or month allowance does not roll over to the next period.
  • Brief rate limits also apply (anti-abuse); hitting either the burst or the day/month cap blocks asks.
  • Direct messages with the bot do not run Knowledge Base /ask — use a linked group.

What happens if I downgrade to Free?

  • IM Ask corpus is hard-locked to Public again — private/draft pages stop answering in linked groups even if the dashboard still shows an old Private setting.
  • Ask quotas, Knowledge Base post caps, image text, and AI auto-cover drop to Free limits (live numbers on Pricing).
  • Your Notion connection and public site keep working within Free publishing rules.
  • Stripe cancels usually stay paid until the period end, then drop to Free (see Billing below).

Private vs public Status?

  • private — Knowledge Base only; not on the public blog or Command-K Search. Exposed in IM only when the linked group’s corpus includes Private (Pro+).
  • public — On your site; can opt into platform discovery for the official demo. Usable on Free IM groups.

Where do I upgrade?

Open Pricing or Dashboard → Billing for Pro (Stripe Checkout). Business checkout is intentionally delayed — the card shows limits for planning, but Subscribe stays Coming soon until we open that tier.

How do I cancel or manage billing?

  1. Use Manage billing for the Stripe Customer Portal (invoices, payment method, receipts).
  2. Or cancel from the same page — when a Stripe subscription exists, cancel is usually at period end; you keep Pro until then, then Free rules apply (including Public-only IM).

App Store / Play subscriptions must be cancelled in the store; deleting a NotionFlare account does not cancel those stores for you.

Is AI Studio included?

No. AI Studio and Telegram /image generation have been discontinued. Business may still auto-generate a cover image for posts that have no cover, within a separate day/month quota. Plans otherwise focus on Knowledge Base /ask, image text (opt-in on paid), media storage, and optional social distribution.
