Slack Ask
Install the NotionFlare Slack app — Ask connects automatically. Members use /ask against your Knowledge Base.
Members ask in Slack; answers come from your synced Notion posts — the same Ask Core as Telegram and Discord.

Requirements
- NotionFlare account with Ask quota (Free = Public corpus only; Pro / Business = choose scope per workspace)
- Permission to install apps in the Slack workspace
Setup
- Click Link a workspace — installs the official NotionFlare app and connects your knowledge base (choose Public / Private / Both when prompted)
- Under Connected workspaces, you can change corpus later: Public (inquiries), Private (members, Pro+), or Private + Public
- In any Slack channel, run
/ask your question
Channels vs workspace: installing the app authorizes the workspace; it does not put the bot in every channel.
- Public channels — on first
/ask, NotionFlare joins automatically so answers and emoji reactions can be matched to the reply. - Private channels — invite
@NotionFlareonce (Slack does not allow bots to join private channels without an invite).
👍 / 👎 buttons work even before the bot is a channel member. If public channels never auto-join after an older install, Add to Slack again once from the dashboard to refresh permissions.
If you installed the app before auto-connect existed, finish linking on the same Dashboard tab (or Add to Slack again).
One NotionFlare account per Slack workspace (V1).
/ask
- Uses the corpus scope configured for that workspace (Private vs public)
- Shares daily/monthly ask quota with Telegram and Discord
- Answers include Sources when the model cites them
- Replies include 👍 / 👎 buttons; emoji reactions feed Home mood when the bot is in the channel (public auto-join or private invite — Ask feedback channels)
- Do not open a DM with the NotionFlare app — use slash commands in a channel
Privacy
Only the corpus scope you choose for that workspace is searchable. Private/draft posts stay out of Public-only workspaces.
Advanced: /bind
/bind CODE is only for re-linking an installed workspace to another NotionFlare account, or recovery if auto-connect failed. Generate a code under Show advanced on the Slack Ask tab (choose Public / Private / Both for that link’s Ask corpus).
Unlink
Dashboard → Ask → Slack → remove the connected workspace.
