NotionFlare

Ask feedback on Telegram, Discord & Slack

How members leave thumbs and emoji feedback on /ask answers — and how you see it on Home.

guidespropsUpdated Aug 14, 2026

After someone uses /ask, NotionFlare can collect two kinds of feedback (where the chat app allows it):

  • Thumbs (👍 / 👎) under the bot reply — the tapped side becomes Thanks; they can still switch. Home shows this as Helpful rate (thumbs up ÷ button votes).
  • Emoji reactions on the reply — any emoji, shown as-is (not counted as up/down). Home shows this as Reaction mood.

Dashboard → Ask → Try /ask also has thumbs buttons (same helpful-rate path). NotionFlare does not store full answers — only a short preview, the question, and message ids needed to attach feedback (about 90 days).

Telegram

  1. Link the group under Dashboard → Ask → Telegram. See Telegram Ask.
  2. Promote the NotionFlare bot to group admin — Telegram only delivers emoji reactions when the bot is an administrator.

- Group → members → NotionFlare bot → Promote to admin

  1. In the group, /ask something → tap 👍 or 👎 under the reply → check Home Helpful rate.
  2. Add any emoji on the bot reply → Home Reaction mood should show that emoji.

You use the official NotionFlare bot — you do not create your own BotFather bot for Ask.

Slack

  1. Link a workspace under Dashboard → Ask → Slack. See Slack Ask.
  2. Public channels — on the first /ask, NotionFlare joins automatically so answers and emoji feedback can attach to the message.
  3. Private channels — invite @NotionFlare once. Without an invite, thumbs buttons still work; emoji mood may not.
  4. If you installed Slack Ask a long time ago and public channels never auto-join, open Dashboard → Ask → Slack and Add to Slack again once to refresh permissions.
  5. Verify: /ask in a public channel → bot appears in members → emoji on the reply show under Activity / Home mood.

Discord

  1. Link a server as in Discord Ask.
  2. Answers include 👍 / 👎 under the reply — that is the main helpful-rate signal (same idea as Telegram and Slack).
  3. Members can also add emoji reactions on the reply for Reaction mood when the platform is collecting them. Use /ask normally; no extra Dashboard step.

Home insights

On Dashboard Home (Pro+):

  • Helpful rate — button votes only
  • Reaction mood — emoji mix (recent window)
  • Most asked — repeated question text
  • Audience topics — topic clusters (Business plan)
  • Recent asks — short answer preview + Open reply when a chat deep link is available

Older Ask activity is cleaned up after about 90 days.
