Knowledge Base

Formerly called Second Brain. Your Knowledge Base is the searchable copy of your Notion posts. Free accounts can keep a capped set of posts ready, use Dashboard → Ask → Try /ask (and Command-K → Ask), and run Public-only /ask in linked Telegram / Discord / Slack groups. Pro and Business unlock Private (and Private + Public) IM corpus and higher quotas. Public posts can still join the official demo corpus if you turn on platform discovery.

What gets included

• Free / Pro / Business: private, draft, and public posts for your Knowledge Base, up to the plan’s post cap (Free ≈ 30, Pro ≈ 1000, Business ≈ 3000 — concurrent slots; updates to posts you already keep do not consume a new slot).
• Platform discovery (optional): public posts only, for the official demo corpus.

Answers with sources

/ask finds relevant passages in your synced pages, then answers only from that material and cites the source pages.

Command-K on the website has two modes: Search (published titles/metadata, no LLM) and Ask (sign-in; same path as Try /ask against your Knowledge Base). Official demos use the platform corpus, not your private posts.

Image text (optional)

Under Settings → Preferences, Pro and Business can opt in to reading text inside images in posts (screenshots, diagrams). That uses a separate quota from /ask. Free has no image-text quota. Body text is preferred when image text looks noisy.

Quotas

Daily and monthly Ask limits scale with your plan. Dashboard Try /ask, Command-K Ask, and every linked IM group (Free Public-only or Pro+ Private scopes) share that quota and bill the account owner. See Pricing and ask quota.

Test without an IM group

Open Dashboard → Ask → Try /ask or Command-K → Ask to ask against your Knowledge Base only. Rebuild from Ask → Knowledge if answers look stale.

Why does /ask say it doesn’t know?

When Ask cannot ground an answer, you get a short refusal or empty Sources — that is intentional (no hallucination from the open web).
